This antarpaat is a silk wedding curtain held between the bride and groom before the mangalashtak or muhurtham. It is decorated on one side with stone work and diamond-style embellishment, showing motifs such as swastik, dulhan and doli. It suits Marathi weddings and Telugu weddings, where it is known as adduthera or terachala, and is used for the shagun ritual.
